i know what you're thinking, but it's not about killing people, it's about the screenplay and soundtrack and general spirit....and yeah, cutting people open and playing with their spleens.
  • Has anyone seen the new Wes Anderson yet? Trailer looks great
  • I saw it on the weekend. It was absolutely perfect. I laughed my ass off and it took my breath away right at the end. SEE IT... see it twice. I know I want to.

It's definitely very cool. It's hard to go in to detail without ruining it but it basically incorporates the many worlds theory.

That was great. Thanks for that.

  • Jeff who lives at home (with his mom). Jeff also like to smoke weed, and thinks everything in the universe is connected. Jeff would would fit right in with the DT Family. Not only did this movie make me laugh, it also tugged on the heartstrings.

Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part.
"There was only one tunnel, dark and solitary: mine, the tunnel in which I had spent my childhood, my youth, my entire life." -Ernesto Sabato
  • @Lono - Just watched ILYPM last night. It was so good! I can't believe that whole distribution nightmare happened.

It was so goofy almost all the way through it, and then my boyfriend fell asleep for about 20 minutes, woke up, and I was bawling, then about a minute later it changed again completely. He was so confused. Hahaha, so good. Ewan is amazing in it. Jim is good, too.

The Secret Garden (1993) is a movie I have watched a million times and will never get sick of. It's the movie equivalent of comfort food for me. Happy-making, beautiful, uplifting, familiar, life affirming...

Edit: @Vermillion - thanks for recommending the Jeff movie, I just watched it and very much enjoyed it.

  • Contact was pretty great. I didn't find out 'til after watching it that it was based on a book written by Carl Sagan. Now I really want to read the book.

it is what it is, but it ain't what it's cracked up to be
  • If nobody has mentioned I Heart Huckabees--yeah, that. I think many people here would love that movie--lots of great philosophical themes for all us space cadets:

Also anything by Ron Fricke: Baraka, Samsara, Chronos. Absolutely amazing cinematography. Always inspires the shit out of me:
