a like feature on posts, no rep system behind it, so no point scoring.

I like it, and maybe a sort by "like" count option.
Also please change the text in code elements to something more readable. How about green text on a black background.Dhal_is_irie said:
I'm not sure if it's possible (with simple html). But I think leniency in the allowed html could make for some way interesting posts. Backgrounds, Frames, Borders, Headers, Paragraph to right/left of image (rather than below/above only).
Little mini-webpages as posts would be fun, and could be really interesting.

^-What that says: Also please change the text in code elements to something more readable. How about green text on a black background.
3) It would also be neat if you could make it so you can add friends, then have some type of view where you can see their posts or the threads they've been posting in.
4) I don't know if this would be too intensive server side, but I like how the Reddit enhancement suite shows you the net upvotes (+1) and downvotes (-1) you've given to a person. Maybe instead of a public "karma" system, a la reddit, you could have a personalized tabulation system that only you can see.
I have a feeling this community is going to be small for at least several years, so I think negative feedback (i.e. downvotes) won't benefit, and may possibly hurt the community. I think positive feedback on posts, with publicly viewable tabulations, may encourage people to generate more content, but would also increased "noise". I think in a couple years when there's more "noise" a weighted negative feedback system may be useful, as well as maybe a tiered forum system. But we, as a community, can face and research that problem together.
5) I forget that besides being a community of like minded people this is a forum for a podcast. If I stumble across some really cool shit, post it on here and it get some attention, I'd like for there to be some explicit mechanism so it would get to Duncan. Then, if he chose, he could give his views on it during the next podcast, or he could possibly riff on the subject (fresh?) as a mini-podcast (5-15 minutes) in between shows.
Sorry this is getting long winded, last suggestion:
6) Some type of wiki or an archive of the "best of". Community recommended media, elaborate philosophical discussions, community generated content, links to notable people / friends of the show. Something so that the gems of community are saved for future generations.

I personally love image sigs, because it gives the person some space to visually express themselves, in a way that is impossible with text.
Haters gonna hate, siggers gonna sig.
Stay smiling folks.

small txt sigs?
thread creators name beside the thread in the board menu, rather than last poster.
Ummm i'm sure i'll think of more soon. :)

Stig_Admin said:No, those are a different thing. When you message someone directly they're the only one who can see the message, what you see when someone clicks on your profile is more like a Facebook wall.
